Community Guidelines

There is no debate about any of the following. It is removed, and the account is gone.

• Racists. Racial slurs, racist "jokes," coded language, dog whistles, or racial harassment of any kind.
• Hate groups. No white supremacist, neo-Nazi, or extremist content, symbols, recruitment, or promotion. No linking to their sites.
• Trolls. If you came here to provoke, derail, bait, or waste people's time, you will be removed. Sealioning and "just asking questions" count.
• Bullies. Pile-ons, name-calling, mocking, and targeted cruelty.
• Discrimination. Attacks based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
• Threats and violence. Threatening anyone, celebrating violence against anyone, or calling for it.
• Harassment and stalking. Repeated unwanted contact, following someone across the platform, or organizing others to go after a member.
• Doxxing. Posting anyone's address, phone number, workplace, or private information.
• Sexual content and exploitation. Explicit material, and zero tolerance for anything involving minors.
• Spam and scams. Bots, mass unsolicited messages, crypto pitches, fake giveaways, phishing.
• Impersonation. Pretending to be another person, an organization, or a moderator.

• Speak to people like they are in the room with you.
• Disagree with the idea. Do not attack the person.
• People bring hard things here. Grief, fear, anger. Handle that with care.
• What gets shared in confidence stays here. Do not screenshot a member's post to hold it up for ridicule elsewhere.
• You can be angry. Anger is not the same thing as cruelty.
• If you are wrong, say so and move on. Nobody is keeping score.

Do:

• Post your own words, your own photos, your own video.
• Credit your sources when you share someone else's work.
• Check a claim before you spread it. Misinformation hurts this movement more than it hurts anyone else.
• Warn people before graphic content. Footage of violence against Black people is not entertainment.

Don't:

• Post content you do not have the right to post.
• Push conspiracy theories or knowingly false information.
• Use this platform to sell, recruit, or advertise without permission.
• Post anything illegal.

See something that breaks these rules? Report it. Do not engage with it. Do not argue with it. Trolls are fed by the reply.

• Use the report option on any post, comment, or profile.
• Reports go straight to our moderators.
• Reporting is private. The person you report is not told who reported them.
• Do not file false reports to silence someone you disagree with. That is a violation on its own.

Depending on what you did and whether you have done it before, one of these happens:

• Content removed. The post or comment comes down.
• Timeout. Your account is frozen for a period. You can read. You cannot post.
• Suspension. Your account is shut off.
• Permanent removal. You are done here. Coming back under a new name is also a violation.

Hate, threats, doxxing, and anything involving a minor skip straight to permanent removal. There is no first warning for those.

Serious violations may be reported to law enforcement.

• Moderators enforce these guidelines. Their decisions hold.
• We are not obligated to review every post, and we are not obligated to explain every removal.
• Think we got it wrong? Email us and say why, plainly.
• These guidelines can change. Material changes will be posted here, and the date at the top will tell you when.
